The first driving lesson in Staines is straightforward as far as location is concerned with no more than a quiet road required for introducing the controls of the car and moving away and stopping several times. It gets more complicated when developing the new driver to left, right turns and emerging. It’s a question of finding suitable areas which allow the new driver to develop comfortably.
As you grow in confidence, your instructor will continue to push you to make sure that progress is being made. Do not worry though – our instructors are hand picked and we pride ourselves on offering the right lessons for you. That means that although we want to you progress and pass your test as soon as possible, we will not rush you. We want you to take your test and pass first time, whilst feeling comfortable and safe.
AREAS TO PRACTISE
There are plenty of areas in Staines for you to practise your driving skills. It is a balance between ensuring that you have a firm grasp of the fundamentals – three-point turns, parallel parking, hill starts – and actual real-world driving on A roads and dual carriage ways.
Towns can be particularly busy with lots going on but this is an essential part of your driving lessons. Although scary at first, the more practise that you get, the better and more comfortable you will become. There is naturally an increase in traffic as well as pedestrians crossing the roads. There’s also plenty of opportunity to practise moving up and down the gears if you are learning in a manual car due to the constant speed changes. Although probably one of the things that students fear most, learning where the gears are becomes second nature to the point that you will soon stop worrying and you will get a natural feel for which gears are in which positions.
Our aim is to ensure that you are a competent and safe driver but also ensuring that you feel safe and component about your driving skills. Half of the battle is mental – making sure you know and feel that you are a good driver.
