On-The-Spot Fines
On the Spot Fines for Careless Drivers is being introduced in 2012. Rather than go through the courts police will be able to issue fines of £80.00 and 3 points on the license for careless driving in an attempt to reduce road traffic accidents. Radio Jackie
Congratulations to Steve Brockwell. Our instructor was spotted by the Radio Jackie roving team displaying a Radio Jackie sticker in the rear window of his driving school car and has won £107.80 (Radio Jackie can be found on FM 107.8). This is not our first association with Radio Jackie. Newsreader Lucy Mayer passed her driving test with me (Phil Hamilton) way back in 2001. Her younger sister Emily followed two years later in 2003. Since then we have advertised with Radio Jackie through our association with Checkatrade.

Price Increase
With continued pressure on our costs we are forced to revise some of our prices for new customers from 01/04/11. The basic rate of £23.00 per hour remains but prepaid lessons for new customers from 01/04/11 will be offered 12 hours at £22.00 (£264.00). The test car price is revised to £60.00 and passplus £156.00 for the minimum 6 hours. These are our first price increases for over 3 years and still represent great value for learning a life skill with a professional driving instructor.

No Reduction in Drink Drive Limit
The Government has turned down a government-commissioned report recommending reducing the legal drink limit by nearly 50% arguing that improving enforcement would have more impact. Considering the limitations on police budgets and reduced numbers of police officers, this is debatable!
