Fault Free Drive
Congratulations to our instructor Michelle. She recorded her first fault free driving test with her pupil Nick Dodds from Teddington today 1st December at Ashford Test Centre. These are exstremely rare and some instructors go through their whole career without achieving this. Not Michelle!! Well done again!! |

20mph Zone Expansion
Islington has become the first local council in the UK to opt for a 20mph zone on all roads within its jurisdiction. It goes to public debate and could be in force by the end of 2012. It is an attempt to reduce the number of fatal and serious injuries to pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. |

About the school
Hamilton School of Motoring is an expanding Driving School, a registered business since 1997. Our policy of providing the best quality driving lessons in North Surrey and Middlesex has enabled us to become well established in the surrounding area. Whether it’s driving lessons in Hampton or having a driving instructor in Sutton our instructors are a familiar sight in and around the town centres of North Surrey. From new drivers to part trained drivers and refresher lessons to advanced driving lessons, our aim is to provide the best possible training for safe driving for life.
As a member of “Checkatrade,” we strongly believe in providing good quality service to our customers. This is confirmed by the number of successful test candidates recommending us to friends and family (See our Recommendations Page)
Checkatrade is an organisation set up to protect the consumer from any business malpractice.
Our Driving Instructors are all registered and monitored by the Driving Standards Agency. We comply with their Code of Practice. Check out our instructors under their profiles below.

Our Instructors' Profiles
Michelle Page
Michelle is an established driving instructor who originally trained and qualified as an instructor with BSM in 2005. She felt her overheads were not justified and decided to leave and go on her own. That was in the summer of 2007. She checked out other driving schools to give her support while establishing herself and felt the best terms were offered by Hamilton and she has been with us ever since.
She recently moved to Ashford with her partner. Michelle teaches from Staines to Twickenham north of the Thames. A regular on our recommended page, we are happy to maintain a long term working relationship with a top quality instructor.
Steve Brockwell

Steve has many years' experience as a driving instructor and was living and working as a driving instructor in and around Exeter for some years before he returned to his parent’s home in 2009. As an experienced driving instructor he checked out the local driving schools to see which one offered the best opportunities and he chose Hamilton. I am very pleased he did. We have had a great working relationship during that time and Steve has gone from strength to strength building up checkatrade feedback and recommendations. Steve's commitment as a professional driving instructor is reflected in his high pass rate.
Since his return to the Tolworth area he has settled down and married. His new wife supports him fully and he is able to work some weekends when necessary. They live in Tolworth and Steve covers the surrounding area in his familiar racing striped Suzuki Swift.
Jason Cobbett

Jason lives with his family in West Ewell and covers Epsom, Surbiton and surrounding areas. Following a successful career in business banking, Jason was looking for a new challenge that allowed him to combine work with his family life. He trained as a driving instructor passing all stages first time, and chose Hamilton School of Motoring in 2009 because of their strong reputation locally. Jason has established himself as a reliable instructor with a calm and patient manner. His ability to explain manoeuvres in steps that are easy to follow and sense of humour have been evident in pupil feedback. He is extremely flexible with his working hours and works most evenings, weekends and has been known to get up at the crack of dawn for an early morning slot where pupils have requested this.
Barbara Grosvenor

Barbara trained with BSM and moved on to working with a driving school specialising in female instructors for some seven years before eventually deciding to change. The owner of that school became more focused on her family life and new enquiries suffered as a result.
Barbara heard about Hamilton through other driving instructors and after finally making the move in the spring of 2010 has been a great addition to our driving school. Feedback through checkatrade confirms she is very good with nervous pupils and has the patience to allow them to develop at their own pace.
Barbara lives in Surbiton with her husband and tries to fit around the times of her pupils, both evenings and weekends, when she can. A great asset to Hamilton School of Motoring.
Benn Hibbert

We are very pleased to have Benn on board. He transferred from another driving school late summer 2010 because he felt dissatisfied with the service he was getting from them. With over seven years experience he has settled into our routine quickly and already established himself with a number of successful test candidates.
Benn lives in Chessington and instructs from Leatherhead to Kingston and the local area. He is always willing to help other instructors if they can’t cover a test and is prepared to go out of his way to assist his pupils. We are pleased indeed for Benn's professional approach to our industry.
Benn is very interested in the Air Cadets, Hinchley Wood, but that does not stop him being available during unsociable hours
Ravinder Sandhu
Ravinder joined Hamilton from BSM in the spring of 2010. He was feeling disenchanted at the time and since joining us has developed into a respected member of our team of instructors. He has received some quality feedback through checkatrade since joining us and I hope our association continues.
He is married and lives in Heston covering the area North of the Thames from Feltham, Hounslow to Twickenham. Ravinder has a supportive wife who recognises there are times when he has to work evenings and weekends to fulfil the demands of his pupils.
Mike Walsh
Mike is an old hand as a driving instructor, teaching hundreds of new drivers since qualifying back in the nineties. Most of his instructing has been with the AA, but 2010 was the year he decided Hamilton was the way forward. His experience is a great addition to our team and I hope he continues his successful career under our banner.
Mike has a very easy-going manner and can put any nervous driver at ease. He is married with a family and lives in Epsom. From Epsom Mike is able to service as far as Kingston-Upon-Thames and the areas within. Some evenings and weekends are inevitable in this profession and he is able to fit around his pupils to suit their times.
Manhal Putros
Manhal joined us mid 2010 after gaining experience with another local driving school. In fact, I knew him from earlier times. I first met him back in 1998 when he came to the UK from Iraq. At that time he was looking for driving lessons and through me he passed his driving test. And here we are 14 years later, now a qualified and experienced driving instructor, we have come full circle.
Manhal lives in Kingston with his wife and young family and specialises in automatic driving lessons in Kingston and the surrounding area. He speaks and understands the English language very well and has no difficulty communicating with his pupils. His calm dedication and professional manner makes him a great asset to Hamilton School of Motoring. Long may it continue.
Graeme Howard

Graeme joined us at the tail end of 2010. A qualified instructor with BSM, he wanted to develop his teaching skills without the restrictions of a UK wide school. He has already established himself with us, having decided to use the popular “Mini” as his driving school car. He has a great character and gets on really well with both pupils and parents alike.
Graeme lives in Surbiton and has shown he is a conscientious instructor dedicated to the development of his new drivers. He teaches both evenings and weekends when needed, covering a large area from his home location
Alain Rovira

Alain came to us from another local driving school following a recommendation from another instructor. He liked our approach to both pupils and instructors alike and joined Hamilton in the latter half of 2010. Alain has been a driving instructor since 2004 and we have already received good feedback and hope to keep Alain with us for the longer term.
Alain lives in Chessington with his partner and their young family. He gives automatic driving lessons and covers Epsom to Kingston and the areas in between. Alain is an early riser for those wishing to have driving lessons before going to work. He is also willing to work weekends when he can.
Rob White
Rob came to Hamilton at the end of 2010. After 5 years with a national driving school, he felt he wanted to work for himself without the burden of an expensive franchise. Times were getting hard though with the downturn in economic climate particularly affecting the driver training market, so he decided to seek out a more local driving school and he came across Hamilton. He found our terms more attractive without being tied to a contract or administrative duties. This leaves him free to run his own business with the protection of a local driving school. Let’s hope it stays that way! Rob puts himself out for his pupils, willing to work unsociable hours and cover a wider area rather than lose a potential customer. Rob is a great addition to the school providing driving lessons in Staines and as far as Richmond if needed.
Lisa White
Lisa joined us beginning of 2011 and has a good pedigree having been with the AA for four years before going on her own. She decided though, she wanted the security of a local driving school, especially starting a young family, and we are lucky that she chose Hamilton. She is already proving to be an asset to the driving school covering enquiries where possible and showing a professional approach with her reliability and dedication to her chosen career.
Lisa lives with her husband in Chessington and is flexible with her working hours. She is able to work some evenings and weekends fitting teaching around her family life.
Following her firstborn this Summer and maternal leave, she is returning to work at the end of September 2011.
Julian Eggar

Julian is a recent addition to Hamilton School of Motoring. He qualified with another driving school and found he was relying more on himself than his driving school to generate work, so he checked out Hamilton and joined us in March.
Julian has a background in the wine industry and marketing, and is very aware of the importance of customer relations. These skills together with driving instruction make him a great addition to the driving school.
Julian lives in West Molesey with his family and services the surrounding area, working some evenings and weekends to match the demands of his pupils.
Zoran Trakilovic
It's great to have Zoran on board. He lives in Long Ditton and covers all local areas both automatic and manual. Zoran has joined us from another local driving school and has a lot of teaching experience including as a qualified teacher. He prefers working on a one to one basis away from the restrictions of a class room and emphasises structured training to all his pupils. Success comes with his conscientious approach to teaching. Zoran is happy to work both evenings and weekends where possible to accomodate the demands of his pupils.
Ken Neal
We are very pleased to have Ken join us this Summer 2011. Following his experience with one UK wide driving school, Ken joined "Whatcar Driving School" just before it folded. He checked us out and we found a mutual interest in providing good quality service to prospective drivers. Ken is also involved with scuba diving, so whether its diving or driving, he is the man for you. He covers Hampton and the surrounding area. Ken is happy to work evenings and weekends as part of his professional approach to driving instruction.
Steve Fairbrass

We are pleased to welcome Steve Fairbrass back to the driving school. Steve lives with his family in West Molesey and covers all local areas from Surbiton to Esher, Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge. Steve came to us originally from another local driving school back in February 2008 but left to run that same school from March 2010. He rejoined us August 2011 to pursue teaching rather than running a business and we are glad to have him back. Steve is a very experienced instructor, willing to go out of his way to help his pupils and this is reflected in his successful test candidates and recommendations.
