Structured Training for New Drivers
We will take you to a quiet area to introduce the controls of the car. It is a daunting challenge for the new driver but by matching your ability to the road conditions we can make learning to drive a positive and successful task.
Assessing and Developing Part-Trained Drivers
The initial drive will be in a quiet residential area to allow you to get used to a different car. At the same time, we can assess the standard reached so far and work out a programme to take you forward. So from previous experience to the new should be a smooth transition and further progress can develop naturally.
Care with Nervous Pupils
We understand. There is so much uncertainty when you first decide to learn to drive. Once you have met our friendly and helpful instructor, you can concentrate on getting to grips with the car controls. We won’t push you too hard and will keep you in your comfort zone. As you gain experience your fears will evaporate and your nerves will be a thing of the past.
Refresher Courses
It is surprising how many drivers stop or discontinue driving for one reason or another. The longer the break lasts the more difficult to overcome an ever increasing loss of confidence. It seems as if you have forgotten everything. We are here to help. You have the skills hidden in the back of your mind and we can bring them out again.
We will begin as if you have never driven before and take you forward at a pace you find comfortable. After a few lessons you will have the confidence to get back on the road again on your own.
Theory Training
We offer in car theory training on a one to one basis. This can be very helpful if you suffer with learning difficulties or dyslexia. Learning theory and having practical driving lessons at the same time is the best way forward as one helps develop the other.
Motorway Training
Motorway driving is included as one of the modules for passplus. If you prefer, motorway lessons can be covered as an individual topic for the full license holder. Normally the instruction is arranged as a two hour lesson to allow for getting to and from the nearest motorway.
Passplus
Allows the newly qualified driver to get more experience in a training environment and earn subsequent insurance discounts as a reward. Further details are available on our “Prices” page.
Automatic Driving Lessons
We offer automatic driving lessons where possible. This is subject to the car and instructor covering your area.
Instructor Support
A driving instructor working with us will have full support with pupils providing cover where needed (sickness, holidays etc). Mock tests. Full support and guidance for check tests and training where requested. Please visit “Instructors” page for more info.
Instructor Training
We offer instructor training parts 1,2 and 3 at a very competitive “pay as you go”. No contract to sign. No false promises. Our “Instructors” page gives further details of the benefits of working and training with Hamilton School of Motoring.
Taxi training
Our specialist Taxi trainer is Jane Day who through word of mouth has built up regular enquiries taking potential taxi drivers through the requirements of the DSA Taxi driving test. She will show you what driving skills you need to get that badge! First introduced in 1999, the taxi driving test is a requirement of many local councils and it is of real benefit to take some training before undergoing the test.
Fleet Training and Assessment
Companies can be held accountable for the driving practises of their staff. We have the experience to offer assessment and training on a one to one basis as required.
